I have decided to start a blog to find and share ideas with busy moms like me. The word kaleidoscope paints a pretty picture in our minds of artistic patterns created by mixing many different shapes, sizes, and colors. I like to think of my life in this way....as I try to balance many things of various shapes, sizes, and colors every day...that something beautiful will come of it.

I am the wife of a wonderful man, Scott. We have 4 terrific children ranging from almost 2 to almost 17. We have 3 beautiful daughters and a handsome little guy we adopted when he was just 13 days old. We live in a 99 year old farmhouse on just under 3 acres in an affluent town with a great school system. We constantly battle the desires to "keep up with the Jones' ". Our family is built on a firm foundation only found in Jesus Christ. We have been blessed with so much and have high aspirations to "give back" some of what we have been given.

In addition to the 6 of us, we have 1 basset hound, 4 bantam hens, 1 bantam rooster, and 2 chicks. I also do home daycare and we are frequently invaded by dozens of teenagers. I find it overwhelming at times, but extremely rewarding. My biggest frustration is not finding the time to do some things that I would love to do. I am hoping this blog might help me get organized, prioritize, and share and hopefully gain great tips and ideas along the way.
